Job summary

Carleton Rode Primary School is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for a Key Stage 2 pupil, helping them access learning and build confidence.

The fixed-term post is part-time (30 hours per week) during term time plus one week, with hours from 8.45am to 3.15pm, and a salary on Scale D (£13.92–£14.14 per hour). You will join a welcoming team focused on inclusion and high expectations, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND.
• Knowledge of de-escalation strategies to support children.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Positive, flexible and enthusiastic with a good sense of humour.
• Ability to build relationships with children, staff and families.
• Works well in a team and contributes to the wider life of the school.
• Committed to helping all children feel happy, safe and successful.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support for a Key Stage 2 pupil to access learning.
• Help pupil develop confidence and social engagement.
• Implement learning activities and resources under supervision.
• Collaborate with teaching team and SENCO to track progress.
