Job summary

St Edward's Church of England (Voluntary Aided) Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Key Stage 2. You will work alongside class teachers to deliver high-quality teaching, run small group interventions, and help children become confident, independent learners.

The role is permanent, term time only (39 weeks incl INSET) with 32.5 hours per week (8:30am-3:30pm). Salary is £23,290-£23,623 (APTC 3 Points 5-6). Start date flexible.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with primary-aged children in an educational setting.
• A Level 2 qualification or above in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare or related field.
• Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
• Understanding of effective classroom support and targeted intervention.
• Understanding of inclusive practice and strategies for supporting children with SEND.
• Team player with safeguarding commitment.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the class teacher to support high-quality teaching and learning.
• Deliver targeted interventions and provide feedback on progress.
• Support learning across the curriculum, especially reading, writing and mathematics.
• Adapt support to individual needs and work with Inclusion Team where appropriate.
• Promote positive behaviour and resilience.
• Build positive relationships with children, colleagues and families.
