St Nicholas CofE Primary School in Wantage is seeking a caring, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team. You will work closely with teachers to support pupils in their learning and development, helping them access activities and participate fully in school life.

Qualifications

• Has experience working with or caring for children.
• Has good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Can build positive relationships with children, colleagues and families.
• Works effectively as part of a team.
• Understands safeguarding and inclusion.
• Willing to learn and engage in professional development opportunities.
• Has knowledge of child development and learning strategies (desirable).
• Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the classroom and during learning activities.
• Provide individual and small-group support, including for pupils with additional needs.
• Promote inclusion, independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
• Assist with the implementation of education, behaviour and personal care plans.
• Help create a safe, stimulating and supportive learning environment.
• Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Support literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities.
• Assist with educational visits, lunchtime supervision and other school activities as required.
