Job summary

Christ Church Primary School in Burton on Trent is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support KS2 pupils. The role is 32.5 hours per week, term-time only, starting ASAP. You will work under teachers, supporting learning, assessment, and pupil wellbeing to help children overcome barriers and reach their potential.

The ideal candidate holds a Level 3 qualification (NVQ or equivalent) and has experience with pupils with additional needs, with a patient, caring, and proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 3 qualification (NVQ or equivalent) in supporting teaching and learning.
• Demonstrates genuine passion for working with young children.
• Patient, caring approach with a proactive attitude.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs is desirable.
• Understands the primary curriculum and adapts support accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Support learning in the classroom under the guidance of teachers.
• Deliver structured support and contribute to individual education and behaviour plans.
• Assist with planning, assessment and recording of pupil progress.
• Provide pastoral support and assist with wellbeing and first aid.
• Supervise classes for short-term cover when needed.
• Support pupils on visits and during breaks and lunchtimes.
• Use ICT to aid learning and build pupils' confidence with technology.
