Job summary

Village Hotel - Reading is seeking a Kitchen Team Leader to own your section as a hands-on Sous Chef, while supporting the wider brigade during busy services and keeping every plate on track.

You’ll drive food safety and brand delivery, ensure temperature checks, HACCP and EHO compliance, supervise and coach junior kitchen team members, manage stock to exact par levels, minimise waste, and keep records up to date for monthly stock takes.

Qualifications

• Hands-on sous chef with ability to run a section.
• Maintain food safety and brand standards, HACCP and EHO.
• Coach junior kitchen staff and KPs.

Responsibilities

• The Kitchen Floor: operate as a hands-on Sous Chef and run your own section during service.
• The Standards: ensure temperature checks and compliance with HACCP and EHO directives.
• The Brigade: supervise and coach junior kitchen team members and KPs.
• The Commercial Reality: manage stock to par levels and keep paperwork up to date for stock takes.
