Job summary

Village Hotel Reading is seeking a Kitchen Team Leader and CDP to bridge the Head Chef’s strategy with a busy service. You’ll own your section, support the brigade, and ensure every plate meets our exact quality, temperature, and presentation standards.

You’ll drive food safety, manage stock, coach juniors, and protect gross profit while performing as a hands-on Chef de Partie during shifts.

Qualifications

• Attitude and energy are prioritized alongside experience.
• Ability to supervise and coach junior kitchen staff.
• Strong focus on food safety, brand delivery, and HACCP/EHO standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate as a hands-on Chef de Partie and run your own section.
• Maintain standards, monitor portion sizes, and assist teammates during busy service.
• Supervise and develop junior kitchen staff and porters.
• Manage stock, control wastage, and keep paperwork up to date for stock takes.
