Job summary

Village Hotels in Edinburgh is seeking a Kitchen Team Leader and Chef de Partie (CDP) to act as the bridge between the Head Chef’s strategy and the realities of a busy service. You will own your section, support the brigade, and ensure every plate meets exact quality, temperature, and presentation standards.

You will drive food safety, brand delivery, and stock control, while coaching junior kitchen team members.

Qualifications

• Experience leading kitchen teams or supervising a section.
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.
• Ability to coach junior staff and coordinate with the brigade.

Responsibilities

• The Kitchen Floor: run your section hands-on, maintain quality and presentation, assist teammates during busy shifts.
• The Standards: ensure food safety, proper temperature, and brand standards are met across deliveries and dishes.
• The Brigade: coach and supervise junior staff and Kitchen Porters, foster teamwork and a safe work environment.
• The Commercial Reality: manage stock levels, minimise waste, and keep paperwork up to date for stock takes.
