Job summary

BaxterStorey is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support a well-organised kitchen and ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The role emphasizes stamina, attention to detail, and strong communication within a collaborative team.

You will assist with dishwashing, cleanliness, inventory and health & safety compliance, contributing to a smooth kitchen operation in multiple client environments. Training and development opportunities accompany this position.

Qualifications

• No formal education is required.
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers.
• Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
• Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients.
• Compliance with Health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order.
