Job summary

BaxterStorey is seeking a Kitchen Porter in Bedford to maintain a well-organised kitchen and support a smooth-running operation. You will wash dishes, help with basic prep tasks, and assist in keeping work areas clean and compliant with health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• No formal education is required, but a high school diploma or equivalent may be preferred
• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
• Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise surfaces, countertops and food prep areas; empty rubbish bins
• Food Preparation – Assist chefs with basic prep tasks like peeling and chopping
• Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing and organising supplies and ingredients
• Compliance with Health and safety – Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen
