Job summary

BaxterStorey is seeking a Kitchen Porter to keep our busy kitchen clean, well organised and running smoothly. You will support chefs, stay focused, and help maintain high standards of hygiene in a fast-paced environment across our sites in Northampton.

We offer ongoing training, a strong work-life balance, and an inclusive team culture that values every member. Previous kitchen experience is helpful but not essential as full training is provided.

Qualifications

• Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods
• Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus

Responsibilities

• Dishwashing - Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers
• Putting away deliveries and moving stock around the site
• Kitchen cleanliness - Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food prep areas, empty rubbish bins, and proper disposal of waste
• Food preparation - Assist chefs with basic prep tasks such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients
• Inventory management - Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients
• Compliance with health and safety - maintain cleanliness and organise the kitchen and ensure equipment is in good order
