Job summary

Baxter Storey is hiring a Kitchen Porter to support the kitchen team in keeping areas clean and organised, handling stock deliveries, and assisting with basic food preparation. The role requires stamina, attention to detail and good communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen roles preferred.
• Ability to maintain hygiene standards in busy kitchens.
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily hygiene standards in the kitchen and food preparation areas
• Control and put away daily stock deliveries
• Assist in basic food preparation tasks as directed by the chef
• Clean and sanitise work surfaces, floors, and walls
• Empty and clean waste bins
• Organise and store cleaning supplies
• Assist with unloading delivery vehicles when necessary
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
• Report any faulty equipment or maintenance issues to the supervisor
• Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
• Maintain a clean and tidy changing area and staff facilities
• Support other kitchen staff during busy periods
