Job summary

Hamberley-Care-Homes, Cofton Park Manor in Birmingham, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen team in delivering nutritious, resident-centred meals and upholding high dietary standards.

You will work with Chefs to plan, prepare and serve meals, ensure Food Hygiene standards are met, and help manage stock in a luxury care environment that values kindness and professional pride.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar catering role, preferably in a care environment.
• Commitment to customer care and delivering first-class service.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations.
• Empathy and desire to make a difference to residents.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
• Flexible team player with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist Chefs in planning and providing high-quality meals meeting residents' dietary needs.
• Prepare and serve balanced meals that meet dietary requirements.
• Ensure all food complies with Food Hygiene Standards and safe methods.
• Manage stocks and storage, with proper labeling and stock rotation.
• Maintain records such as fridge temperature checks to meet hygiene requirements.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting the Chefs in the planning and provision of high-quality meals that meet the nutritional and dietary requirements of our residents
• Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals that meet dietary requirements
• To ensure all food prepared meets Food Hygiene Standards and ensure that safe methods of work are always used
• Manage all stocks and stores ensuring all food is correctly marked and stock rotation systems are in place
• To maintain accurate records to satisfy food hygiene requirement such as fridge temperature checks
