Hamberley Hindhead Place Care Home is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support chefs in planning, preparing and serving nutritious meals for residents, while ensuring dietary requirements are met and food hygiene standards are observed.

Responsibilities

• Support Chefs in planning and providing high-quality meals meeting nutritional and dietary requirements.
• Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals that meet dietary needs.
• Ensure all food meets Food Hygiene Standards and safe working methods are used.
• Manage stocks and stores with proper labeling and rotation.
• Maintain records to satisfy food hygiene requirements (e.g., fridge temperatures).

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting the Chefs in the planning and provision of high-quality meals that meet the nutritional and dietary requirements of our residents
• Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals that meet dietary requirements
• To ensure all food prepared meets Food Hygiene Standards and ensure that safe methods of work are always used
• Manage all stocks and stores ensuring all food is correctly marked and stock rotation systems are in place
• To maintain accurate records to satisfy food hygiene requirement such as fridge temperature checks

About You

• Proven experience working in a similar catering role, ideally in a care or similar environment.
• Committed to customer care and first-class service provision
• Knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations
• Empathy and a desire to make a difference to the lives of our residents
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and on own initiative in a fast-paced environment
