Job summary

Brookwater House, part of Hamberley Care Homes, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the kitchen team in delivering nutritious, high-quality meals for residents.

You will help plan, prepare, and serve meals, maintain hygiene standards, manage stocks, and assist with records. Join a caring, team‑oriented environment that values kindness, professional pride, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a catering role, ideally in a care or similar environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chefs in planning and providing high-quality meals meeting residents' dietary needs
• Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals to meet dietary requirements
• Ensure all food meets Food Hygiene Standards and safe work methods
• Manage stocks and stores with correct labeling and rotation
• Maintain fridge temperature and other hygiene records

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting the Chefs in the planning and provision of high-quality meals that meet the nutritional and dietary requirements of our residents
• Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals that meet dietary requirements
• To ensure all food prepared meets Food Hygiene Standards and ensure that safe methods of work are always used
• Manage all stocks and stores ensuring all food is correctly marked and stock rotation systems are in place
• To maintain accurate records to satisfy food hygiene requirement such as fridge temperature checks
