Job summary

HC-One Ltd. in Lincoln is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support compassionate care across dementia and residential homes. You’ll help with meal prep, serve meals with warmth, and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment. The role is 11 hours per week with shifts 7.45am–1.00pm or 1.00pm–6.30pm.

We value kindness, patience, and reliability. You may need NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or be willing to work towards it; DBS checks provided.

Qualifications

• Some kitchen experience and willingness to work towards NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow recipes and record information accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under the direction of the Chef or Cook.
• Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely and friendly manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including equipment and surfaces.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures (fridges, freezers, etc.).
• Support stock rotation and ensuring ingredients are properly stored.
• Show new team members how to safely use kitchen equipment.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless after busy lunch times.
