Job summary

HC-One Limited is hiring a Kitchen Assistant for a full-time role totaling 30 hours per week in our care homes across the UK. You will help prepare and serve nutritious meals, maintain kitchen hygiene, and support staff with safe food handling and stock management.

We value kindness, reliability, and a patient, respectful approach to Residents and colleagues. Experience in kitchen roles is welcomed; NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or willingness to train is required.

Qualifications

• NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or willingness to work towards it.
• Ability to follow recipes and record information accurately.
• Safeguarding training appropriate to the role and to undertake additional training as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under direction of Chef or Cook.
• Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely and friendly manner.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene of equipment and surfaces.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures.
• Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
• Demonstrate proper use of kitchen equipment to new team members.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen clean after busy shifts.
