Job summary
HC-One Ltd. is hiring a Kitchen Assistant to support meal preparation and dining services across our dementia, nursing, residential and specialist care homes. You will help deliver nutritious meals, follow recipes, and record temperatures to ensure resident wellbeing.
The role requires patience, kindness and a willingness to learn. Prior kitchen experience is valuable, with opportunities to gain an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
Qualifications
- Experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential.
- Must be willing to work towards NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation.
- Ability to follow recipes and record information accurately with kindness.
Responsibilities
- Assist with meal preparation under supervision.
- Serve meals warmly and promptly to Residents.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene of surfaces and equipment.
- Monitor and record food storage temperatures.
- Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
- Show new team members how to safely use kitchen equipment.
- Wash up and keep the kitchen spotless after busy periods.
