We're looking for a passionate and proactive Junior Technologist to join the Home Fragrance team. In this role, you'll support the delivery of exceptional product quality and innovative fragrance experiences that delight our customers and differentiate M&S from the rest of the High Street.

Working closely with suppliers, designers and internal teams, you'll help ensure every product meets our exacting standards for safety, compliance, ethics and performance. You'll assist in product development, testing and evaluation, helping to bring inspiring new fragrances and home ambience solutions to life.

What you'll do

Your key accountabilities will include

  • Experienced and knowledgeable, with previous experience in the technical field of Home Fragrance.
  • To technically develop market leading product for the assigned product category through managing the delivery of specification, innovation, safety, compliance and ethics, that differentiate M&S from competitors.
  • Take technical responsibility for a range/department as well as providing support to the Technology team across the Department, acting on behalf of the Technologist to represent M&S externally and the Department internally.
  • Critical path, ensure all technical deadlines are met inline with the BU critical path and continually work to optimise lead‑time whilst maintaining product technical standards.
  • Work alongside the Departmental Technologist to deliver innovation, driving commercial customer‑focused benefit inline with both the Design and Product strategy and Innovation strategy.
Who you are

Your skills and experience will include

  • Excellent communication skills within C&H Technical Function, Design and Buying, Supply Base and Global Sourcing Offices
  • Ability to interpret Departmental Strategy and provide insights based on technical knowledge
  • Multi‑tasked orientated working to tight deadlines, understanding when to take decisions and when to seek guidance
  • To be able to analyse data (CIU, Bizarre Voice, QPI's, PLM) and drive insights to support strategic thinking
  • Knowledge and experience of creating product specifications
