Job summary

Acker-Tech, a growing MSP in Harlow, Essex, is seeking a Trainee Tech Support Engineer to work with our engineers on real client issues from day one, including on-site visits and hands-on learning. You’ll develop practical IT skills while solving everyday problems and building a career in support engineering.

Ideal candidates are tech-enthusiasts with basic Windows/Microsoft 365 knowledge, good communication, and a readiness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Interest in IT driven by study, home lab, or helping others.
• Logical approach to solving problems.
• Clear communication with non-technical people.
• Willingness to learn and take feedback.
• Basic knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365 and networking.

Responsibilities

• Log, work and update support tickets by phone, email and remote session
• Troubleshoot everyday hardware, software, printer and Microsoft 365 issues
• Set up laptops, phones and new starter accounts
• Handle password resets plus mailbox and Teams access requests
• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers with clear notes
• Join engineers on client site visits, office moves and device rollouts
• Document fixes so the whole team can use them
