Job summary

Loungers’ Verdo Lounge is hiring a Junior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at a busy café bar. Earn up to £13.30 per hour plus tips, with paid breaks, and 50% off food and drinks from day one.

This is a great next step for an experienced Chef de Partie, Senior Chef, or line chef ready to take on more responsibility. You’ll support the Head Chef and Sous Chef, help the team deliver great shifts, maintain high standards, and grow into a senior kitchen role within a growing hospitality brand

Qualifications

• Experience with fresh ingredients and basic kitchen operations.
• Proficient in hot and cold prep, cleaning, and knife skills.
• Strong hygiene practices and food safety knowledge.
• Ability to work well in a team and take direction from senior chefs.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work at pace with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver great shifts and ensure daily prep is ready.
• Maintain a clean, well-organised kitchen and uphold high food standards each shift.
• Take ownership of your section, managing prep, par, cleanliness, and food safety.
• Follow allergen processes and ensure kitchen compliance and safety.
• Support fellow kitchen colleagues and help newer chefs develop skills and confidence.
• Know dish specs inside out and ensure every plate leaves the kitchen to spec.
