Overview

35 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm but additional hours may be required. We are happy to consider agile and flexible working patterns. Our approach to hybrid working allows for up to 40% of time working from home and 60% working in the office, please contact a member of the recruitment team to discuss further. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their finance experience in a legal environment. As a Junior Legal Cashier, you'll support the day-to-day processing of payments, receipts, and transfers, while learning how to manage transactions in line with SRA Accounts Rules. You\'ll work closely with the wider Finance team and gain exposure to client account and accounts receivable work, with full training provided. Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location or services. All members of the firm participate in our Responsible Business program.

Responsibilities
  • Post payments, receipts, and transfers into the firm\'s office / business accounts.
  • Learn how to handle transactions in line with SRA Accounts Rules (full training provided).
  • Assist with reconciling bank accounts to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
  • File and organise bank statements and other financial documents electronically.
  • Work closely with other members of the Cashiers team, gaining exposure to client account processes and accounts receivable tasks.
  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) as a minimum; A-Levels or further study in finance or business are a plus.
  • Some experience in a finance or office-based role, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • Full training will be provided, including guidance on SRA Accounts Rules and internal finance procedures.
  • Opportunities to gain experience across other areas of the Finance team, including client account and accounts receivable.
