Job summary

South Gloucestershire and Stroud College is seeking an IT Technician Apprentice to support students and staff in their technical needs. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop skills in IT support, including troubleshooting hardware and software, alongside experienced IT staff.

The apprenticeship lasts for 1 year and 6 months, requiring full-time commitment during term-time, with a regular training component complemented by hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and develop IT skills in a support environment.
• Ability to provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report IT issues to the IT team.
• Provide technical support to staff and students.
• Assist with maintenance of IT equipment and setup of software applications.
• Help maintain records of IT assets and perform network administration tasks.
• Contribute to IT projects and write how-to guides for common issues.
