South Gloucestershire and Stroud College is seeking an IT Technician Apprentice to support students and staff in their technical needs. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop skills in IT support, including troubleshooting hardware and software, alongside experienced IT staff.
The apprenticeship lasts for 1 year and 6 months, requiring full-time commitment during term-time, with a regular training component complemented by hands-on experience.
Upon successful completion, there is potential for further employment opportunities.
This role is ideal for someone to develop a broad set of skills in IT support including systems management, customer service, hardware/software troubleshooting and network administration within an education environment.

37 hours per week Monday to Friday. Term time only so the salary will be adjusted to reflect this. 1 day a week release for college sessions. Start/end time to be agreed with successful candidate. 37 hours a week

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands‑on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
The IT Technician Apprentice will join the school’s IT team and work under the guidance of experienced IT staff and the IT Manager to provide support for students, teachers and administrative teams with day‑to‑day technical needs.

This role is office‑based. Parking is available onsite. A full DBS check is required. Having the right attitude, work ethic and commitment to your education as well as your employment are essential requirements to this role.
