Job summary

Stobart (part of Culina Group) is recruiting for a Desktop Engineer Trainee at our Appleton site to support the Desktop Engineering Team. You will gain hands-on experience, develop best practices, and build skills toward a future Desktop Engineer role, subject to demonstration of competence and performance.

Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in logistics/transport.
• Self-motivated, proactive approach to work.
• Engineering and/or maintenance work desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with pivot tables and graphical reports.
• Hold a valid Category C+E driving licence (desirable).
• Confident and professional telephone manner.

Responsibilities

• Support Desktop Engineers with day-to-day operational activities and administrative tasks.
• Assist in preparing reports for senior management updates under guidance.
• Maintain weekly fleet KPI trackers with data updates and visual summaries.
• Update daily VOR reports with repair information.
• Serve as first point of contact for transport teams on VOR inquiries.
• Coordinate with external vendors for repair progress updates.
• Gather and collate repair estimates for review by DTE team.
• Assist with onboarding of new suppliers and required documentation.
• Support coordination of asset repairs and communicate timelines.
