Job summary

Stobart, part of the Culina Group, is seeking a Yard Operative at Appleton on a full-time, permanent basis. The role involves 4ON 4OFF nights, with a salary of £30,977 per year. You will help organise trailers, operate a forklift, and support the transport team in maintaining a safe, efficient yard.

We value applicants with attention to detail, teamwork, and a proactive attitude. FLT licence is desirable, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Organised with a high level of commitment and motivation.
• Good attention to detail; able to work in a busy outdoor environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• FLT licence desirable or willing to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Organise and manage trailers in the yard to support operations.
• Use a Forklift Truck (FLT) to move loads safely between trailers.
• Load and unload trailers as required.
• Sort and process returned goods per procedures.
• Ensure trailers are positioned and available for planned collections/deliveries.
• Perform routine yard checks and report defects or safety concerns.
• Complete day-to-day administrative tasks and operational reporting.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
• Operate equipment following safety procedures.
• Collaborate with transport, warehouse and operations teams to meet business needs.
