Job Overview

The Business Development Manager will focus on identifying and securing new business opportunities within the fenestration industry. This role requires a specialist in new business acquisition, with a strong emphasis on identifying leads, establishing relationships, and closing high-value deals. You will be responsible for driving revenue growth by targeting both regional and national opportunities, while developing long-term partnerships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • New Business Acquisition: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, within the windows, doors, conservatories, and warm roof sectors.
  • Lead Generation: Proactively generate high-quality leads through networking, attending industry events, cold calling, and leveraging digital platforms.
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Maintain a robust sales pipeline, managing the sales cycle from lead qualification to closing, ensuring timely follow-ups and engagement.
  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activities, and potential business opportunities.
  • Relationship Building: Build and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in the industry, positioning the company as a trusted supplier of innovative solutions.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain deep knowledge of the company’s product range (windows, doors, conservatories, warm roofs) and tailor solutions to meet client needs.
  • Quoting & Negotiation: Prepare competitive quotes and proposals for clients, negotiating terms, pricing, and timelines to secure profitable contracts.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management on sales progress, market trends, and new business opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the internal teams (e.g., technical, production, customer service) to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably within the fenestration industry
  • New Business Specialist: A “hunter” mentality with a strong track record of securing new clients and driving revenue growth in a competitive market.
  • Product Knowledge: Familiarity with windows, doors, conservatories, or related construction products is preferred, but not essential.
  • Sales Skills: Excellent prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills, with a focus on developing long-term client relationships.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present to senior decision-makers and deliver compelling proposals.
  • Self-Motivated: Highly motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using CRM software and other sales tools to manage leads, track progress, and report on activities.
  • Full Driving License: A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel as needed to meet clients.
