Job summary

Pembroke College, part of the University of Cambridge, is recruiting an IT Apprentice to support the IT Operations Manager and team. The role offers hands-on experience across IT systems, networks and user support in an academic environment.

You will work 36.5 hours a week, gain structured apprenticeship training and develop diagnostic, hardware/software maintenance, AV setup and documentation skills while supporting projects and events.

Qualifications

• Three GCSEs (or equivalent) at 4+ (A-C) in any subject.
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at 3+ (D or above).
• Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level in a similar subject.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day IT support to students, Fellows and staff.
• Diagnose, maintain, upgrade and replace hardware and software.
• Monitor and record the performance and behaviour of IT systems.
• Assist with AV equipment setup and operation.
• Help prepare IT equipment for projects and events.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of work.
