Job summary

digitalphobia, an Oxford-based IT support company, is recruiting for an IT Support Apprentice to maintain client workstations and servers, working closely with the Service Delivery Manager to improve support services. The role is based in Botley and offers 37.5 hours per week with a salary of £18,000 per year.

You will gain hands-on experience, solve 1st line issues, communicate with clients, and build documentation while earning a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

Qualifications

• 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ in any subject
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+
• Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject

Responsibilities

• Perform 1st line duties
• Communicate with our clients verbally (via telephone) and written (via emails/tickets)
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues remotely and in person (where required)
• Maintain client expectations: provide regular updates on ticket statuses and outline expected response times
• Monitor and maintain the support email queue
• Create and update internal and client-facing documentation
• Perform daily reviews of backup statuses and other system-critical functions
