Job summary

The University of the West of Scotland is seeking an IT Support Apprentice to join our IT Service Desk team. This role provides first-line support to staff and students and offers a path toward a nationally recognised SCQF Level 6 qualification, with opportunities to progress to Level 8.

You will assist with Microsoft 365, laptop setup, and troubleshooting while gaining hands-on experience in a large IT environment. 35 hours/week, with mentoring and progression opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support via phone, email and service desk systems.
• Assist users with Microsoft 365 applications including Teams, Outlook and Office.
• Support the setup and configuration of laptops, desktops and mobile devices.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and Windows-related issues.
• Log, track and resolve support requests while delivering excellent customer service.
• Create and maintain simple user guides and knowledge base articles.
• Develop skills in digital technologies, networking, cyber security and cloud services.
