Job summary

A leading IT services provider in Manchester is looking for an IT Service Desk support specialist to assist internal users via phone, email, and in person. Responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, setting up devices, and adhering to IT policies. The ideal candidate will have solid experience with Windows and Microsoft 365, exceptional customer service skills, and self-motivation. The role requires on-site presence five days a week with competitive salary and a range of benefits including training and development.

Qualifications

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Provide first-line IT Service Desk support to internal users by phone, email, remote tools, and in person.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Install and update software applications.
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of laptops, desktops, mobile phones, and tablets.
  • Communicate effectively with users to understand their IT requirements and relay relevant information to the wider IT team.
  • Support IT projects and system upgrades as needed.
  • Support IT admin tasks, including procurement and general administration.
  • Adhere to and promote the organisation's IT policies.
  • Maintain the security of the IT infrastructure.
Qualifications
  • Good knowledge and experience of Windows 10 & 11 and Microsoft 365.
  • Previous IT support role experience (preferable).
  • Good knowledge of PC and laptop hardware.
  • Some knowledge of Android and iOS on phones and tablets.
  • Ability to install, support and maintain hardware and software.
  • Ability to provide telephone support to remote users of all levels.
  • Good communication and outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Dynamic, self‑motivated and able to work on own initiative.
  • Well‑developed all‑round IT and people skills.
  • Keen to learn and develop within the role.
  • A full UK driving licence is preferable.

The successful candidate will be working on site in our Manchester office 5 days a week 09:00 – 17:30. You must live within a commutable distance to the office.
