Summary

Based in our state-of-the-art head office in Tolworth, our IT Retail Solutions department is looking for an experienced and driven professional, who has a passion for store related IT systems to join our team and build a career in a challenging yet rewarding environment.
Our IT Retail Solutions department is responsible for ensuring operations of various IT systems used within Lidl GB stores, including the identification, specification, and delivery of solutions to meet business requirements. The store solutions in scope include, but are not limited to, manned-checkouts, self-checkouts, and card payments.
We have a hybrid working model for Head Office roles, with 3 days in the office per week ensuring you have a flexible work life balance.

Please note, internally this role will be known as Senior Officer (IT).

What you'll do
  • Develop deep technical and operational knowledge of certain store solution(s) to become a Subject Matter Expert
  • Provide a professional and expert level of 3rd line support, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Manage systematic changes and execute system deployments.
  • Execute routine 'business-as-usual tasks', e.g., creating weekly reports, analysing data and system maintenance
  • Support the implementation of business projects by planning and executing assigned tasks
  • Create and maintain documentation, including system configuration, testing scripts, and knowledge base articles.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure IT solutions are fit for purpose and fully utilised
  • Prepare presentation materials detailing project progress and key analysis findings.
  • Provide 'out of hours' on call support on a rota basis (approx. 1 out of 6 weeks) **.
  • Occasional local and overseas travel / overnight / weekend work due to off-site meetings, and system support.
What you'll need
  • Subject Matter Expert experience of supporting at least one of the following systems: manned-checkouts, self-checkouts, or card payments.
  • Familiarity with IT service management principles (ITIL).
  • Experience managing technical issues and performing root cause analysis.
  • Experience supporting or leading projects and proven familiarity with the key IT project lifecycles.
  • System testing experience, including the designing and executing of test scripts.
  • Ability to analyse data, e.g., creating reports, performing data integrity checks and identify system issues.
  • Experience in communicating with and acting as an interface between technical and functional teams.
  • The ability to gather, document, and translate business requirements into structured functional specifications.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills are essential.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with system monitoring and alerting tools, e.g., Nagios, Splunk.
  • PowerShell and/or Python experience would be desirable.
  • UK driving licence is strongly preferred but not essential.
