Job summary

Johnson Controls in the United Kingdom is seeking an IT Support Specialist to help deliver hardware provisioning, desk-side support, and IAM tasks for office, manufacturing, and logistics teams.

You will manage Windows OS and Office 365 workloads, handle ServiceNow tickets, and assist with security compliance while engaging with cross-functional projects and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in desktop IT support.
• Proficient with Windows OS and Office 365 suite (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Basic networking knowledge (IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, wireless).
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Willingness to engage in special projects for growth.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy equipment for new hires via weekly status reports.
• Perform hardware installation and ongoing end-user support (desktops, laptops, servers, printers, mobiles).
• Manage PC lifecycle: ready replacements, retirements, and provisioning.
• Handle IAM requests (provisioning, de-provisioning, access validation).
• Triage UK Deskside ServiceNow tickets to resolve issues.
• Support IT security compliance (room setup, maintenance, access).
• Communicate updates to users and stakeholders.
• Contribute to Enterprise and BU projects and initiatives.

What you will do Are you passionate about providing IT support to your colleagues? Join our team as an IT Support Specialist and contribute to the seamless functioning of our office, manufacturing, and logistics teams.How you will do it

• Use weekly Status reports to build and deploy equipment for new hires. Conduct hardware installation and provide ongoing support (e.g., Desktops, laptops, servers, tablets, mobiles, printers, specialized devices). Complete the PC lifecycle management process by ensuring replacement machines are ready for users and retiring machines are processed to completion. Support Identity and Access Management requests (e.g., provisioning, de-provisioning, access validation, authentication, network share, and troubleshooting). Handle UK Deskside Service Now Ticket Handling Queues to resolve end-user issues and requests. Support local IT security compliance (e.g., comms room set-up, maintenance, and access) as needed. Maintains end-user system security by
  prioritizing vulnerability incidents/requests. Proactively communicate and provide updates to users. Support & delivery of Enterprise and Business Unit projects and initiatives.What we look forRequired Experience in a desktop IT support role. In-depth knowledge of Windows OS and experience in the Office 365 suite of products with a particular emphasis on Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive. Technical understanding of how these products connect to the various background systems and integrate together. Understanding of basic networking concepts such as IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, network routing, Wireless connectivity etc. Effective communicator of technical material to a non-technical audience at various levels. Ability to establish and maintain high levels of client trust and confidence. Desirous to engage in special projects to foster professional growth.Preferred Relevant qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Microsoft certification or related discipline.
• Overview of Windows subsystems such as Certificate management, Device management, regionalisation, Registry editor etc.
• Experience in using Service Now for IT requests/incidents. Knowledge of the following technologies: iOS, Android, Intune, Proxy systems, VPN, Cloud computing technologies.
