Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an IT Support Specialist to serve colleagues across office, manufacturing, and logistics teams. You will deploy hardware for new hires and manage the PC lifecycle while ensuring security and IAM tasks are handled efficiently.

You will communicate effectively with non-technical users, resolve desk-side tickets, and participate in IT projects. The role blends hybrid work with hands-on hardware and software responsibilities in a corporate environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a desktop IT support role.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows OS and Office 365 apps (Outlook/Teams/SharePoint/OneDrive).
• Understanding of basic networking concepts (IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, wireless).
• Ability to communicate technical material to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT support to colleagues for desktops, laptops, servers, and printers.
• Perform hardware installation and deployment for new hires.

• Handle Identity and Access Management requests (provisioning, de-provisioning).
• Process UK Deskside Service Now ticket queues and resolve end-user issues.

What you will do

Are you passionate about providing IT support to your colleagues? Join our team as an IT Support Specialist and contribute to the seamless functioning of our office, manufacturing, andlogistics teams.

How you will do it

• Use weekly Status reports to build and deploy equipment for new hires.
• Conduct hardware installation and provide ongoing support (e.g., Desktops, laptops, servers, tablets,mobiles, printers, specialized devices).
• Complete the PC lifecycle management process by ensuring replacement machines are ready for users andretiring machines are processed to completion.
• Support Identity and Access Management requests (e.g., provisioning, de-provisioning, access validation,authentication, network share, and troubleshooting).
• Handle UK Deskside Service Now Ticket Handling Queues to resolve end-user issues and requests.
• Support local IT security compliance (e.g., comms room set-up, maintenance, and access) as needed.
• Maintains end-user system security by prioritizing vulnerability incidents/requests.
• Proactively communicate and provide updates to users.
• Support & delivery of Enterprise and Business Unit projects and initiatives.

What we look for Required

• Experience in a desktop IT support role.
• In-depth knowledge of Windows OS and experience in the Office 365 suite of products with a particular emphasis on Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
• Technical understanding of how these products connect to the various background systems and integrate together.
• Understanding of basic networking concepts such as IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, network routing, Wirelessconnectivity etc.
• Effective communicator of technical material to a non-technical audience at various levels.
• Ability to establish and maintain high levels of client trust and confidence.
• Desirous to engage in special projects to foster professional growth.

Preferred

• Relevant qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Microsoft certification or related discipline.
• Overview of Windows subsystems such as Certificate management, Device management, regionalisation,Registry editor etc.
• Experience in using Service Now for IT requests/incidents.
• Knowledge of the following technologies: iOS, Android, Intune, Proxy systems, VPN, Cloud computingtechnologies.
