Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is recruiting an IT Development Engineer to join our Digital team on a fixed-term basis. The role involves end-user computing, incident handling, and collaboration with third-party suppliers to install and retire endpoint IT equipment.

The successful candidate will have NHS IT experience, Windows/MS Office skills, and familiarity with IT security and licensing considerations. A UK driving license is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows software and MS Office.
• Understanding NHS data standards and NHS data items.
• IT literate with basic IT security awareness.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide first and second-line IT support and manage tickets to resolution.
• Support Digital Service Desk and computer room operations as needed.
• Prepare IT equipment for installation and testing per standards.
• Assist with deployments and hardware/software replacement programs.
