Job summary

Isle of Wight NHS Trust is seeking a Development Consultant to lead software and integration development from requirements to deployment using Agile methods on in-house C# and .NET applications. The 23-month fixed-term role is hybrid with up to two remote days per week, supporting work towards a shared Electronic Patient Record across trusts.

You will lead software delivery, act as lead developer for key products, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with product owners to translate needs

Qualifications

• Degree or 5+ years' experience in software development or integration
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Experience in a lead developer role
• Experience in either application development or integration development

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of software solutions from requirements through to implementation
• Act as lead developer for specified software products, feature developments and the integration of Trust systems, data and medical devices
• Design, build, test and deploy new features for in-house applications in C# and .NET
• Technical lead for software development, integration and data sharing between applications using Agile methods
• Engage with product owners to turn requirements into user stories
• Risk assess change impact and manage changes through ITIL change management processes
• Support and mentor junior developers
• Act as subject matter expert across a range of in-house technical solutions
• Keep up to date with new digital technologies and Trust-wide applications

Job description

This fixed-term Development Consultant post, for 23 months, sits in the shared digital team serving Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. The work is leading software and integration development, from requirements through to deployment, using Agile methods on in-house C# and .NET applications. It is a hybrid role with up to two remote days a week, supporting work towards a shared EPR across four acute trusts. Applications are open only to internal candidates of the two trusts.
