Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust in the Digital team is delivering endpoint IT equipment projects and frontline support across sites. The role focuses on sourcing, ordering, installing equipment and providing first- and second-line service desk assistance, with travel between sites as needed.

The post is fixed-term and internal applicants from partner trusts are encouraged. A full UK driving licence is required to support equipment transport and site visits.

Qualifications

• Previous Digital Service Desk first-line support experience.
• Relevant experience for the job description.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with third-party suppliers and Trust staff to order, process and install endpoint IT equipment.
• Identify and source cost-effective, supportable equipment meeting organisational needs.
• Manage equipment retirement and disposal in line with WEEE regulations.
• Provide first- and second-line support, managing tickets to resolution within SLAs.
• Cover the Digital Service Desk where required.
• Prepare and test IT equipment for installation to IT standards and end-user requirements.
• Check deliveries are correct and in acceptable condition.
• Provide start-up training and communicate IT policies and procedures.
• Contribute to approved IT development projects to meet timescales and budgets.
• Assist with deployments and desktop hardware/software replacement programmes.
• Support computer room operations and daily data centre checks.
