Overview
Due to the expansion of our charity, One YMCA is seeking an experienced IT Desktop Engineer to join our small internal team, working alongside our Managed Services Provider. This role provides IT support to approximately 650 staff across more than fifty locations, so it involves a significant amount of travel and hands‑on support.
Key Responsibilities
- Be confident, proactive, and able to use initiative, with proven experience providing desktop support in a corporate or multi‑site environment.
- Set up IT environments in new locations, requiring strong working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and experience installing and configuring computers, routers, VOIP systems, CCTV cameras, and network switches.
- Troubleshoot and resolve a range of IT issues, including software, hardware, and cabling faults, ensuring a varied and interesting workload.
- As One YMCA upgrades its infrastructure, including replacing legacy firewalls with Cisco Meraki hardware, apply experience with Meraki products where advantageous.
- Work unsupervised across multiple sites, demonstrating strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
- Maintain a flexible approach to working hours to meet deadlines and project objectives.
Job Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car (transport may be provided in some circumstances).
- Basic or Enhanced Criminal Disclosure may be required once a conditional offer is made.
- Motivated, enthusiastic, dependable, and trustworthy, capable of working independently and as part of a growing team in a busy environment.
What We Offer
We are a charity dedicated to making a tangible impact across a growing community. If you are passionate about IT, enjoy working in a dynamic environment, and want to contribute to our mission, we would love to hear from you.
