Job summary

IWT PHU Single Corporate Service is seeking a Procurement Assistant to support the Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust across multiple sites. The role involves stocking wards and departments, using inventory systems, and delivering medical and surgical supplies to clinical areas.

You will work within the Procurement and Supply Department, with responsibilities including stock replenishment, barcoding, and contributing to continuous improvements in supply chain

Qualifications

• Education to GCSE or equivalent, including Mathematics and English.
• Training in moving and handling goods.
• Experience in service industry.
• Ability to communicate in written and oral English.
• Ability to operate a personal computer with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software.
• Ability to understand and work with financial, administrative and personnel processes and practices

Responsibilities

• Operate the Inventory Management System to process, track and replenish stock.
• Use an advanced Inventory Management System, utilising barcode technology to order medical and surgical products.
• Pick, pack and deliver medical and surgical supplies to wards and departments.
• Maintain accurate stock records and assist with stock audits.
• Provide friendly, efficient customer service to clinical and non-clinical teams.
• Prioritise workload to meet deadlines and respond to urgent requests.
