We are currently recruiting freelance Interpreters from English to French to be part of our growing Teams. The linguist will provide simultaneous and/or consecutive interpreting services, ensuring that: target text and messages are correctly conveyed and reflect the meaning of the source; high accuracy, key terminology are maintained and inconsistencies and incorrect cultural references spotted and properly addressed.

Requirements

• Eligible to work in the UK
• Native speaker in one of the languages involved
• Minimum 2 years’ interpreting experience
• Excellent command of the English language in both comprehension and writing
• Linguistic and cultural competences of both source and target language
• Adaptive to fast-paced work environment with multiple changes of project priorities
• Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Problem solving and decision-making skills
• Experience with simultaneous & consecutive interpreting service
• Experience with Interpretation systems (bidule)
• Experience in translating technical courses would be a plus
• Availability to either commuting or traveling to work onsite
• Ability to ensure the highest level of quality by following all interpreting guidelines
• Excellent communication, language and organisational skills
• Be punctual, reliable, confident, and professional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree and/or Certificate of Higher Education in Languages, Translation, Interpretation, Philology, Linguistics or related fields
• Any qualifications related to Interpreting/Translation would be welcome but not mandatory
