Job summary

LBS Builders Merchants in Wales is seeking an Internal Sales Assistant to support the Branch Manager in delivering a loyal, profitable, customer-focused operation at Ystradgynlais. You will be hands-on with sales, stock control, customer service and growing our customer base.

You’ll quote customers, advise on products, maintain stock levels, handle stock takes, and build strong relationships with customers and suppliers while staying aware of market trends.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales or customer service, ideally in a builder’s merchants or trade environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with customers.
• Organised, reliable and focused on delivering results.
• Team player who can also work independently and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support Branch Manager to achieve branch sales targets and maximise margins.
• Provide customers with quotations, product advice, and high levels of service.
• Identify opportunities with new and existing customers to grow the business.
• Manage and maintain stock levels and display core products effectively.
• Coordinate stock takes and ensure goods-in procedures are followed.
• Build relationships with customers and suppliers and resolve issues swiftly.
• Monitor local market trends and competitor activity.
• Support cash collection and debt control to help financial performance.
