Sheridan Maine is delighted to be supporting a leading organisation in the recruitment of an Interim Financial Accountant. This is a 12-month fixed term contract created to help manage an increased workload within their Group Finance function.

The role will be largely remote, with occasional travel to the organisation's London and Portsmouth offices. You will be joining a small, collaborative and experienced group finance team, where you\'ll gain exposure to both recurring activities and varied project work across an international business. This position offers an excellent development opportunity, particularly for someone looking to progress towards a senior accounting role in the future.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a variety of group-level projects and support ongoing financial processes.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end reporting, ensuring accurate and timely outputs.
  • Strengthen core finance activities such as reconciliations, reviews, and audit preparation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to resolve issues and maintain effective communication.
  • Support continuous improvements within the finance function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with extensive experience in a group consolidation and accounting role in an international business.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with a solid understanding of IFRS.
  • Confident with reconciliations, month-end and year-end processes.
  • Strong ability to analyse large volumes of data and communicate variances effectively.
