Job summary

Overview

Interim Finance Manager (4–6 Months)

Location: Sheffield (on-site)

Contract: Interim, 4–6 months

Start Date: Immediate

Salary: £50,000–£60,000 equivalent (pro rata)

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join a business in Sheffield on an interim basis for an initial period of 4–6 months. This role would suit a qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) with strong management accounting experience and proven ability to lead a small finance team.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations, managing a small transactional finance team (accounts payable/receivable).
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review journals and accruals.
  • Provide financial insight and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Liaise with auditors and support the preparation of audit files.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) with strong post-qualification experience.
  • Demonstrable management accounting expertise and a hands-on approach.
  • Confident leading and developing a small finance team.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Available to start immediately or at short notice.
