Mobile Fitter

Salary: OTE £35 - £40K package, Monthly Bonus £250, pension, 28 days holiday, full driving licence required.

Location: Bristol BS30.

Hours: 40 hour week + overtime, likely 50+ hours most weeks.

Overview

The mobile fitter or installation engineer will deliver, fit and install mechanical conveyor equipment at customer sites. Working in a two‑person team with a depot vehicle, the role involves frequent travel and occasional overnight stays.

Responsibilities
  • Mechanical fitting and installation duties at customer sites and workshop.
  • Changing bearings, rollers, motors and other components on site.
  • Reading basic engineering drawings (preferred).
  • Providing a professional, responsible point of contact with customers.
  • Working and travelling in a two‑person team, starting early (6am).
  • Attending the depot daily to pick up the vehicle and start early when travelling to different locations.
  • Occasional overnight stays (fully expensed, £75 extra per stay, 2–3 times a month).
Qualifications
  • Previous mechanical fitting experience of machinery or mechanical equipment.
  • Experience working on a mobile fitter basis is useful but not essential.
  • Knowledge of conveyor or similar production machinery or mechanical material handling equipment is of interest but not essential.
  • Engineering qualifications are of interest but not essential if a suitable work history can be demonstrated.
  • A current full driving licence is essential.

Applicants may be in a production environment currently but looking to move into a mobile or field based role. The successful candidate will benefit from working for a successful and established business and service provider, earning additional salary with overtime.
