Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Inpatient Clinical Lead to join our Primary Care team at HMP Moorland, a men's category C prison and young offender institution located in South Yorkshire.

This role will work alongside the Clinical Lead and oversee clinical ownership for the unit. Development of a prescribing course could be offered. Benefits include free parking, low staff turnover, wellbeing days, and strong relationships and partnerships.

Hours

37.5 – Monday to Friday – 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Salary

Full time – annual salary up to £58,012 per annum (FTE), depending on experience.

Candidate requirements

Candidates must have a legal right to work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role, employment offers will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job
  • Liaise with external stakeholders to develop pathways that prevent patients from attending outside hospital, including end‑of‑life and acute care.
  • Line‑management responsibilities.
  • Assist with the development of patients’ clinical care plans and line‑manage a team of healthcare practitioners, ensuring they are supported and appraised.
  • Promote safe patient care.
  • Develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications
  • Registered nurse with a current professional qualification.
  • Clinical oversight to develop the unit, working alongside the Head of Healthcare.
  • Leadership experience / staff line management.
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good IT skills and IT literacy.
  • Ability to work within a busy environment.
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
