Job summary

Turner Townsend in the UK Southwest seeks a proactive Cost Manager to support our infrastructure team across highways, utilities, rail and transportation projects. You will build strong client relationships, administer contracts, and provide rigorous cost monitoring and forecasting to keep projects within budget.

The role emphasizes collaboration with client and contractor teams, governance, and value engineering to improve forecast accuracy and deliverables.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Contract Management (NEC3, Option A, C & E preferred).
• Cost Management proficiency across projects and programmes.
• Change management and control in complex environments.
• Valuation, pricing and cash flow reporting.
• Risk management and procurement experience.
• Estimating and cost forecasting across varied scopes.
• Collaborative approach and value engineering mindset.
• Ability to lead and develop teams and commissions.
• Awareness of procurement routes, value management and life-cycle cost issues.
• Degree or equivalent in a relevant field; professional body membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish professional relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
• Administer contracts in line with project objectives and governance.
• Provide accurate cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to budget.
• Monitor cost variance and cash flow and ensure timely applications.
• Collaborate with client and contractor teams to deliver KPIs and value engineering.
• Manage contract changes effectively while maintaining governance.
• Drive forecast and budget accuracy improvements.
• Provide sound commercial knowledge and support to stakeholders.
• Ensure final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
• Lead people and commissions as needed.
