Information Technology Operations Manager

Job Profile

Our client is seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager to lead the end-to-end deployment of technology products at customer sites. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering large-scale hardware rollouts across the retail sector. You'll lead a team responsible for all hardware rollouts to sites across the UK — ensuring timely, high-quality project delivery. The role is approximately 80% project delivery, 20% business-as-usual.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of deployment coordinators and schedulers
• Oversee planning and execution of hardware rollouts across the UK
• Manage engineer scheduling, resource allocation, and resolve coordination issues
• Act as the key liaison between internal teams, customers, and on-site engineers
• Track deployment performance metrics and implement process improvements
• Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
• Handle escalations and resolve deployment challenges quickly and effectively
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and stock management aligned to deployment needs
• Collaborate with supply chain to maintain optimal inventory levels and avoid delays

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years' experience in deployment, operations, or project management
• 3+ years leading teams of 10+ in a hybrid working environment
• Proven success delivering large-scale hardware deployments, ideally in Retail
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Highly organised with excellent problem-solving abilities
• Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
• Experience using scheduling tools and project management software
• Detail-oriented, customer-focused, and calm under pressure
• Knowledge of H&S and compliance standards
