Senior IT Operations Manager - Manchester - Brand New Global role

We are seeking a Senior IT Operations Manager with strong operational IT experience across various areas including IT infrastructure and cloud-based applications in AWS for a leading company in central Manchester. This role is primarily operational and hands-on, requiring solid AWS knowledge along with experience in Cisco and the Microsoft stack.

The career path for this role leads to becoming the Global Head of IT. Join us in our new Manchester office and UK headquarters to support our IT strategy, working closely with the CTO on a global scale to implement our vision.

The successful candidate will oversee and deliver day-to-day IT operations, maintain high standards of IT service delivery, and safeguard our IT infrastructure. You will also drive innovation within our cloud-based infrastructure (AWS) and work across multiple regions worldwide. You will lead new projects, manage change, and represent IT in the UK and globally.

You will manage a team of 10+ professionals in the UK and coordinate IT specialists across America, Australia, Asia, and Europe.

Experience Required:

• Senior IT leadership experience (e.g., Head of IT, Head of IT Ops, IT Operations Manager)
• Hands-on operational experience with AWS, Cisco, and Microsoft infrastructure
• Proven ability to manage and develop cross-functional IT teams
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and operations management
• Experience managing global teams (desirable)
• Proven track record in implementing large-scale IT projects
• IT security background (desirable)
• Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS)

The Role:

• Execute and oversee IT operations aligned with company goals, ensuring timely delivery of projects in an AWS cloud environment
• Manage and mentor IT professionals across infrastructure, networking, security, and applications
• Ensure efficient IT operations and outstanding support across multiple global offices
• Oversee IT services within AWS, Microsoft, and Cisco environments, ensuring they meet business needs and SLAs
• Lead IT infrastructure and security initiatives to ensure system robustness and reliability
• Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy

This role is the face of IT in the UK, based in central Manchester, with an expectation to work primarily from the office. The starting salary ranges from £65,000 to £75,000 plus excellent benefits.
