Information Security Operations Manager (SOC), Cardiff

One of the UK’s leading providers of critical infrastructure for trade is seeking a SecOps Manager.

This role involves leading the operations activities of the Information Security team, ensuring the highest quality protections are delivered to the business. Responsibilities include administering, prioritising, monitoring, and conducting business-as-usual Computer Security, Information Security, and Cyber Security activities in line with technical and business strategies, as well as industry best practices.

The successful candidate will assist the Information Security Lead in reviewing and improving the company's Cyber Security posture to meet compliance standards, reliably report on defence performance, and contribute to the development of the long-term Information Security strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and support the Information Security team in DevSecOps practices.
• Manage relationships with security partners.
• Participate in management and governance forums to promote cyber security best practices.
• Deputise for the Information Security Lead, including incident response.
• Maintain and test security technologies such as antivirus, data encryption, identity, and cloud security measures.
• Improve procedures, documentation, and communication with internal teams.
• Report on security status and system risks.
• Support security audits and incident investigations.
• Recommend tools and countermeasures.
• Perform risk assessments and system testing.
• Maintain relationships with external vendors and review disaster recovery plans.
• Stay current with security threats and industry developments.

Candidate Requirements:

• Industry-recognised security qualification (e.g., Microsoft certifications, CISMP, CEH).
• Experience in security operations and IT technical background.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines and budgets.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Experience with infrastructure security tools, ISMS, NIS Regulations, GDPR, and ITIL.
• Knowledge of MS cloud technologies such as Intune, Defender, Azure, and Entra.
