Senior Operations Manager (Social Housing)

Position Overview

Our client, a national affordable housing organization, is seeking a Senior Operations Property Manager to join their expanding property services team. The role involves managing and leading a team of surveying staff to oversee their affordable housing portfolio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering regional repairs, voids, planned investment, and major works programs, ensuring these are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards in line with the organization’s strategy. Additionally, the role includes overseeing contractor performance, managing complex contractor relations to maximize value for money, and managing a multi-disciplinary surveying team across a wide geographical area.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining strategic relationships with key partners for planned investment, major repairs, and responsive repairs.
• Leading the appointment and management of sustainable contractor partnerships.
• Creating and embedding processes based on data evaluation.
• Collaborating with senior management at regional and national levels.
• Managing the surveying team and overseeing budgets.

Candidate Requirements

• Educated to HND level or equivalent, with a professional qualification in construction, housing, or property.
• Experience delivering programs of planned investment, major works, and responsive repairs at a senior level.
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams across broad geographical areas.
• Experience managing large service budgets.
• Knowledge of building law, regulation, contracts, and health and safety legislation.
• Experience reporting to executive management and boards.
• IT proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• A full clean UK driving license and willingness to travel as needed.
