Pin Point Health & Social Care in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a BSL-qualified Independent Living Support Worker to assist two young men in their first home after college. You will provide person-centred support to help them become more independent, build relationships, access the local community and achieve personal goals.
The role covers daily living activities, community participation and personal care where needed, with full training provided.
Location: Spital Tongues, Newcastle upon Tyne
Contract: Permanent Salary: £30,179 per annum (£15.69 per hour)
Hours: Full-time or Part-time | 24/7 service including days and waking nights
We are looking for a BSL-qualified Independent Living Support Worker to support two young men in their first home following college.
You will provide person-centred support to help them develop their independence, build relationships, access their local community and achieve their individual goals. The role includes supporting with daily living, activities, community access and personal care where required.
The individuals have complex support needs. One experiences generally nocturnal seizures and may display behaviours that challenge, including self-injurious behaviour. The other has dysphagia and requires an IDDSI Level 6 soft and bite-sized diet. Full person-specific training will be provided.
You will be caring, reliable, flexible and enthusiastic, with a genuine commitment to supporting people to live fulfilling and independent lives.
Experience of supporting autistic people, people with learning disabilities, complex needs, behaviours that challenge, epilepsy or dysphagia, and an understanding of Positive Behaviour Support.
This role involves regulated activity with vulnerable adults. Appointment will be subject to an Enhanced DBS and barring check, satisfactory references, right to work verification and other relevant pre-employment checks.
